Frequently asked questions

What DPI should I use to convert PDF to JPG?

For web display or email sharing, 72 DPI keeps file sizes small. For presentations or slideshows, 150 DPI (recommended) gives sharp results on any screen. For print-quality output, use 300 DPI.

Can I convert a multi-page PDF to JPG?

Yes. Multi-page PDFs are converted page-by-page and downloaded as a ZIP file containing all the JPG images. Single-page PDFs download as a single JPG directly.

Can I convert a PDF to PNG instead of JPG?

The tool currently outputs JPEG. JPG is the most widely supported format and produces small file sizes at high quality. PNG support is on the roadmap.

Will converted images have transparent backgrounds?

JPEG does not support transparency, so any transparent areas in the PDF are rendered with a white background.

Why is my converted JPG blurry?

Try the High quality setting (300 DPI). The Low setting (72 DPI) is optimised for small file size, not sharpness. High produces images roughly 4× sharper than Low.
