Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
TL;DR — Your files never leave your device. PeakPDFs processes everything locally in your browser. We collect no personal data and set no cookies.
1. Who we are
PeakPDFs (peakpdfs.com) is a free, browser-based PDF tool suite. We are committed to full transparency about data handling — which is simple, because there is almost none.
2. File processing
All PDF and image processing on PeakPDFs happens entirely inside your browser using JavaScript libraries (pdf-lib, pdf.js). When you upload a file:
- The file is read from your device into browser memory using the Web File API.
- It is processed locally using client-side code.
- The result is made available for download as a local Object URL.
- No file data — original or processed — is ever sent to any server.
You can verify this by opening your browser's Network tab and confirming zero outbound requests occur when processing a file.
3. Data we collect
We collect minimal, anonymous usage data to understand how the site is being used and to improve it:
- Page views and navigation paths via Vercel Analytics (privacy-friendly, no personal data collected).
- Approximate geographic region (country-level, derived from IP address by Vercel — IP addresses are not stored).
We do not collect: names, email addresses, file contents, file names, personal identifiers, or any information that can be linked to you as an individual.
4. Cookies
PeakPDFs sets no cookies. Vercel Analytics uses a cookie-free, privacy-preserving approach that does not require a cookie banner.
5. Third-party services
PeakPDFs loads the following third-party resources:
- Google Fonts — fonts are loaded from fonts.googleapis.com. Google may log your IP as part of this request.
- cdnjs.cloudflare.com — JavaScript libraries are served via Cloudflare's CDN. Cloudflare may log standard access data.
- Vercel — our hosting provider. Vercel receives standard HTTP request metadata (IP, user-agent, referrer) as part of serving the site.
We do not use advertising networks, tracking pixels, or social media buttons.
6. Children's privacy
PeakPDFs does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The service requires no registration and collects no personal information.
7. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
